The light of the stars is as old as love
And they are the oldest lovers…
A storyteller, a musician and a poet are bringing a night of entrancing love stories to the Silk Mill for Valentine’s Day.
Love’s Labyrinth, on Wed 14th Feb, will unravel the mysteries of love in all its forms. Storyteller Sarah Mooney tells the bittersweet tales of Orpheus and Eurydice, Eros and Psyche, and Dido and Aeneas, accompanied by the music of Tom Widdicombe and the poetry of Chris Petrie. Sarah will will retell ancient stories for this moment in time, bringing to life all the beauty, change, peril and heartbreak we know as love.
Doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Tickets are £10 from Dandelion Events.
During the day before the evening event, the performers are running three free daytime workshops.
Try your hand at writing a love poem (12 noon), learn the art of storytelling (1.30 p.m.) or explore vocal improvisation (3 p.m.). Donations are welcome.
‘ I have been exploring love in all the ways I know it to prepare for this night, trying to find ways to navigate, through story, into the heart.’ Sarah
