Enjoy an intimate concert with Rodney Branigan, at Frome Festival – “A First Class US Import”
A Night of Americana Folk Roots
The Texan local who learned to play in Austin, perform in Los Angeles, craft songs in Nashville, and put it all together in London.
He’s played Glastonbury, he tours the globe, he’s the official face of Yamaha guitars, and he’s openeded for Jack Johnson, G Love & the special sauce, Billy Sheehan,Show of Hands, Billy Bragg.
Frome festival is in for a treat as the now somerset local brings his ‘full contact folk music’ to the Frome.
Music connections USA described him as “Impossibly talented” – BBC Cambridge call him a “Living Legend” – and Blues magazine France called him ‘… the revelation of the year or even decade’
Texan Rodney Branigan has developed a unique style all of his own –
implausibly mastering the playing of two instruments at once and putting the rest of us to shame. Make no mistake, this is no novelty act. Rather he manages to combine an almost piano-like capacity, focusing each of his hands on either melodic or rhythmic, percussive duties and the results are mesmerising. Vocally comparable to Jeff Buckley and Simon & Garfunkel.
