2015 would have been the year of Frank Sinatra’s 100th birthday and already there have been a number of celebrations of his music (including Bob Dylan’s acclaimed ‘Shadows In The Night’). Not wishing to be left out the Nick Sorensen Quartet (featuring John Law) join the rat pack of tributes with ‘The Sinatra Variations’, a uniquely creative and subversive take on the great singer’s musical legacy. Frank Sinatra has been a major influence on many jazz musicians from Charlie Parker to Lester Young, Miles Davis to John Zorn. Hear them take on ‘Ol Blue Eyes’ “their way”!’
