Love the folk sounds of Ireland, Scotland, and Appalachia? Don’t miss Silk Mill’s Celtic & Transatlantic Day! Bring the family to afternoon campfire sessions with live music, workshops, and drinks. As night falls, two thrilling bands take the stage! Crossing The Rockies bring infectious, foot-stomping energy, supported by Meeting At Crossroads featuring guitar wizard Martin Kolarides in a blend of jazz, Celtic, old-time, and bluegrass. Get ready to dance, cheer, and soak in the magic!
Programme for the day.
- 1-2pm: Bluegrass Bwanas
outside by the campfire. Bluegrass Bwanas! Seph and Che play traditional bluegrass songs with clawhammer banjo and harmony singing.
- 2-3pm: Incognito
outside by the campfire. “Incognito” met on a simple surveillance job. By an amazing coincidence we had all chosen similar disguises and hid behind the same bush!! There we discovered our shared appreciation of American and Irish traditional music. The rest is history …
- 3-4pm: Workshop for session tunes.
- 4-6pm: Open session.
- 6-7pm: Ceildh with the Stepping Tones
- 7–8:45pm: Meeting At Crossroads.
Martin Kolarides (guitar, who declines to say if his extraordinary skills are due to a late night crossroads meeting), Keith Harrison-Broninski (piano), and Pete Maxfield (double bass) fuse jazz with celtic, oldtime, & bluegrass.
- 8:45-9pm: Switch over bands on stage.
- 9-10:45pm: Crossing The Rockies.
Frome’s original Celtic / Transatlantic band plays Irish, Scottish, Appalachian and other traditional songs / tunes with a foot tappin’ downhome joy that makes you glad to be alive. You’ll be out on the floor, hollerin’ for more.
The bar will be open from 12.30pm
Tickets £8, you will receive a wristband so that you can come and go as you wish during the day.
