“For the past 8 years I have been travelling to India to the beautiful City of the Lakes, Udaipur in Rajasthan, with its incredible culture, colours and people.

I now have a well-established studio in Udaipur which has given me the opportunity to work with a range of local materials like marble, stone, glass, steel and bronze., and to meet and collaborate with other artists and craftsman.

For me, this exhibition is about sharing and celebrating just some of these wonderful experiences and people that have enriched my world and about giving a little back to enable others to do the same!

The Borganville Gallery, in Udaipur, a beautiful contemporary gallery owned and run by Tauren and Bupesh. Bupesh is a renowned stone sculptor in his own right and spends as much time as he can in his own studio retreat in the foothills of Udaipur 1/2 an hours’ drive from the city. He has a big dream and determination to build an Artists Retreat where people undertake stone and bronze sculpture, pottery, painting or just chill out. For the past few years he has planted orchards and an organic veg garden and built his own artists domain as well as a great studio. My input into this venture is to create a team of high quality craftsmen and artists to work at the centre so visiting guests will always have well trained creatives in all disciplines. I also intend to try and invite international artists to visit the centre to pass on the skill and create a fusion of ideas and create a truly international mixing pot of likeminded people.

One of the joys of travelling is the people you meet along the way, Rupert Grey, Ananya Singal, Shahid Parvez  and Peter Brown have all been part of my Udaipur Journey and it is one of my greatest pleasures to all be in The Silk Mill together”
